Vaccinations/Feeding/Care instructions

1. Kitten/cat has the following vaccinations: Felo-vax-pct-killed vaccine given________. Next Due:____________, ______________.

2. Although the cat will remain indoors, rabies vaccine is State law in most states- Give this vaccine 8 weeks apart from any other vaccine/surgery.

3. All cats in my home are tested for Fel-V/FIP once a year and ALL ARE negative. The Fel-V shot is NOT recommended unless the cat roams free outdoors or has regular exposure to an outdoor cat.

4. Kitten/cat is guaranteed against upper respiratory infection, worms, fungus, and earmites for 48 hours.

5. Please be sure you are 100% happy with the kitten before you leave as the kitten/cat cannot be returned (for exposure/health reasons). If for any reason you decide not to keep the kitten/cat (allergies, etc.) I will do my best to place said cat from your house.

6. Kitten/cat should have clean, fresh water available at all times as well as a bowl of dry premium brand cat food (heaping full and fresh). I feed ProPlan Kitten dry food. Kittens can stay on ProPlan dry kitten food for one year.

7. Use a gravel plain litter ( I use CATS pride, blue bag). Do not use sand or “clumping” litter until the kitten is 8-12 months old as sand can clump inside of a kitten if eaten or inhaled.

8. “Sisal” rope scratching post is a must as kitten is being trained to use one and this kitten/cat is NOT TO BE DECLAWED.

9. I use a fine toothed metal comb on ragdolls, 1-2 times per week. If you plan to show your kitten/cat, he should be bathed once per 3-4 weeks REGULARLY. Air/blow dry and use a good salon shampoo-not Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. I use Neutrogena, Biolage, or Paul Mitchell. Do not bathe while still kittens.

If well cared for, your kitten will prove to be a loyal, fun, playful companion.

Brief History of Ragdoll Cats

Beautiful, loving and very affectionate, the ragdoll breed originated in California by Ann Baker in the 1960s. The Ragdoll will go completely limp and relaxed while being picked up. They love to be held and cuddled. Ragdolls will weigh about 10-12 lbs for spayed females and 15-20 lbs for neutered males. The ragdoll does not reach their full weight until 3 years of age.

The Ragdoll has beautiful non-matting luxurious, silky fur which is medium to long with little shedding. They have exceptionally large oval blue eyes.

Kittens are born all white and patterns begin to show when they are about 10 days old. The colors take a bit longer to develop. Full color is not expected until about 2-3 years of age.

The Colors Available:
Seal, Chocolate, Blue and Frost (Lilac). Flames, Torties and Lynx are a few of the new colors that are available in the breed.

Three Patterns Available:
Color Point- color pointed masks, ears, feet and nose

Bi-Color- white inverted “V” on the mask, white also on the legs, feet, ruff and stomach with color pointed ears and tail.

Mitted- color pointed masks, ears, tail and legs with white mittens on the front feet and white boots on the back legs and also a white chin.
